Creating A DOS Startup Disk

To create a Windows XP boot disk to boot up into basic DOS, follow these steps:

 1. Insert a blank floppy disk into the drive
 2. Double-click on the 'My Computer' icon
 3. Right-click on 3 1/2 Floppy (A:) and select 'Format'
 4. Click on the "'Create an MS-DOS Startup disk' checkbox
 5. Click the Start button

NOTE: This is not a Windows XP startup disk. This will only allow you to do simple commands in DOS mode. If you need a complete Windows XP startup disk you will need to go to Microsoft's website to download one.
